spring collection
client:smithers – oasis
brief
Smithers – Oasis needed a selection of photos to showcase its new Spring collection of products to the floral industry in the UK and Europe.
I was asked to complete a studio shoot with a tight deadline, going to print within three weeks of the shoot. A modern lifestyle shoot showing the colours, textures and shapes of the product was needed to show how the range could be used by florists.

execution
Ahead of the shoot, I researched and selected a studio. It was the ideal space, filled with natural light but also flexible enough to work with electronic lighting and a large number of props. I worked closely with the client to discuss their needs for props and additional dressing and I sourced all materials needed.
With a range of colours and textures to capture, I made use of natural daylight and electronic flash to showcase the floral displays. I used the space creatively – making use of props and unique aspects of the studio – to maintain a natural but eye-catching look.
outcome
Brochures were printed within 3 weeks of the shoot, a year ahead of pre-orders. The images were also used on the website and social media. The client praised the photographs, stating that they played a role in excellent order numbers.
