burchester court, grimsby
client: esh construction
brief
In October 2020 I was commissioned by Esh Group to photograph a brand new 60-home extra care development project in Lincolnshire. Licenses were to be issued to the clients, Morgan Sindall and Places for People.
The imagery needed to be both creative and descriptive whilst capturing the considerate design and the quality of the construction.
A portfolio of images was required which would be used for marketing purposes, social media, future bids and award submissions.

execution
I started early in the day to capture the morning light and worked through to twilight as it was important to demonstrate the external lighting scheme and illumination from within the building. I worked with the team whilst the finishing touches were being made to the interior prior to the first residents moving in. During the shoot I needed to consider all of the partners involved who would be using the images. I utilised some panoramic and stitching techniques in some areas to help illustrate the larger internal spaces and exteriors.
Under normal circumstances I prefer to include users of a building but during the pandemic this wasn’t possible, I did however just like Alfred Hitchcock, make a few cameo appearances.
outcome
The photographs have been highly praised by all the organisations involved in the commission. I have received a great deal of interest from additional parties involved in the construction and design of the building which has led to further image licenses being issued.
Following on from this project Morgan Sindall and Lovell commissioned me to photograph a scheme on the Isle of Wight.

feedback
“The photography taken by Andrew of Burchester Court was outstanding! Andrew captured the new development to provide the best construction images alongside the best angles to advertise the extra care facility for a sales purpose. Andrew took into account the differing briefs from stakeholders and upon the images being shared online, we were contacted by more stakeholders who wanted to use the pictures for their own project showcase. Can’t wait to see the outcome of the next big project we work together on!”
