Project Description: UTC, Newcastle
Client: Galliford Try Construction
Situated on part of the former George Stephenson’s engineering works the building encompasses parts of the 19th century architecture within a new contemporary style college designed to teach young people in collaboration with university and employer sponsors.
Galliford Try commissioned me to undertake stills photography and a virtual tour. My client wanted the architectural imagery to portray the build quality and impressive spaces whilst showing the students using the building. As many of the spaces were vast, architectural optics and panoramic techniques were utilised together with close ups of architectural details. Twilight imagery was employed to show the illuminated aspects of the building as darkness approached.
Stage two was to record the spaces as 360 degree images which were then used to produce an immersive interactive virtual tour so that the client could use this media to showcase the building for future prospects. The virtual tour not only showcases the rooms but also encompasses a gallery of the stills photography, clickable details and information panels when journeying through the building. The tour can be viewed on any computer, tablet and smart phone. Additionally it is possible to have a further immersive experience by linking up with a virtual tour headset.
As usual, brilliant imagery Andrew which shows this project off to its best. The virtual tour has been very well received by all involved and will be a superb tool to add to our presentations for future bids”Jeremy Barnett, Operations Director Galliford Try Building Division
