Project Description: Oxford House, Newcastle upon Tyne
Client: Robertson Construction
The project
Robertson’s commissioned me to capture the newly finished student accommodation in the centre of the city centre.
The students had already moved into the accommodation and so I was able to incorporate them as part of the imagery which is always useful to show how spaces function. A mixture of finishes were employed by the architect which were important to capture in the photographs. As the building includes part of the grade II-listed John Dobson designed house the photography needed to show the relationship between the new build and the existing historic architecture. Additionally I felt it important to capture some of the 1960’s concrete structures which are prominent in this area of the city.
I have been commissioning Andrew to capture buildings both finished and in progress for over 20 years during which time he has shown his ability to portray the architecture to its best despite at times facing difficult conditions. His attention to detail has meant that it has always been well received by ourselves, our associates and our clients.”
