Project Description: Langley Academy Primary, Slough
Client: ADP
The project
The 2 storey building was designed in a series of rectangular blocks, each with a different function separated by circulation zones. The central ‘heart’ space is lit by large roof lights with a first floor void to provide natural light to the ground floor. The classrooms are grouped to form year group class bases, each class-base has its own toilets and shared teaching space opening out on to the central heart space.
It was important to arrive ready for early morning light as the shoot needed to take place in November this also helped with recording the elevations busy with children arriving for their school day. Interior photography needed to document the way that the school was split into class-bases including the colour schemes and finishes whilst showing the spaces ‘active’ with children and staff.
